Welcome Home Daddy!
So, today is a big day for our family. The day we have so patiently been waiting for...the day we weren't sure would ever come...the day our Dad will get to come home (well, not exactly home but my sister's house) from the hospital.
I am still in awe that after 2 heart attacks (the first of which was on Thanksgiving morning), 4 surgeries, almost 2 weeks of multiple forms of life support to keep him alive, a mild stroke, a pulmonary embolism and some major rehab...he is getting to come home, today!
I won't get to see my Dad today (as the girls and I were sick Sunday and Monday with a really nasty bug, so I don't want to pass it on to him), but I will see him this Friday.
Thanks again to everyone....God, Daddy, his doctors, his nurses, his rehab techs, friends, family, fellow bloggers...you have all played a huge part in Dad's recovery and I know he is still alive today and able to walk out of the hospital today because of you...whether you performed surgery, or helped him learn to walk again, or prayed, or called, or emailed...we are able to get through this because of you all!
